New York City Gay Men’s Chorus

New York City Gay Men's Chorus commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising as well as the 40th anniversary of the founding of NYCGMC with a new choral music suite, co-commissioned by NYCGMC and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles. Quiet No More: A Choral Celebration of Stonewall50 marks the occasion of the first-ever WorldPride in New York and features more than 400 singers from across the country. New York City Opera

As One, with more than 25 productions around the world since its 2014 premiere,Composer Laura Kaminsky, librettist Mark Campbell and librettist/filmmaker Kimberly Reed skillfully employ a baritone and mezzo-soprano to portray the personal journey of Hannah, the opera's transgender protagonist, with empathy and humor. May 30 - June 6 at Merkin Hall.

Stonewall , the world premiere opera by composer Iain Bell and librettist Mark Campbell. June 21-28 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theatre, it's the first opera with a transgender character written for a transgender singer (Liz Bouk). The June 28 Stonewall 50th Anniversary performance will be hosted by
Bob the Drag Queen.

New York Festival of Song

Five Boroughs Music Festival joins forces with New York Festival of Song and the LGBT Community Center (“The Center”) for two special programs celebrating LGBT composers and librettists, presented concurrently with WorldPride in honor of the 50-year commemoration of the Stonewall uprising.

New York Philharmonic

As part of its Music of Conscience series, the Philharmonic will perform John Corigliano’s Symphony No. 1, “Of Rage and Remembrance,” the New York composer’s “personal response to the AIDS crisis,” inspired by the AIDS Memorial Quilt. May 30 - June 1 at David Geffen Hall.

The Stonewall Chorale

The nation’s first gay and lesbian chorus presents their Pride Concert featuring Quiet No More, a new work co-commissioned with the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, and other groups commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. In the acoustically magnificent Holy Apostles in Chelsea (28th & 9th) Thursday June 6 at 7:30.
